Quotes

True animal lovers only want to live in peace and love their pets. They would never dream up such laws. Hurting pet lovers this way is heartless, crude and mean-spirited. Instead of preventing cruelty, this is the very license for it.
~ Ron Hevener

Winners believe in their worth in advance of their performance. ~Denis Waitley

Hello, this is KIM BLOOMER host of this online radio show, ANIMAL TALK NATURALLY, along with my partner JEANNIE THOMASON -natural rearing breeder of Boston Terriers. We were privileged to have RON HEVENER as our special guest on this show to share with our live audience and now also with our syndicated audience, information about the anti-animal ordinance that just passed in Louisville, KY. Also present was LEIGH FOSTER, host of THE PAWZ CAUZE, to tell us a bit about her interview with KAREN BRINKLEY who is the legislative liaison for THE RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERS ASSOCIATION OF LOUISVILLE.We learned so much as we all discussed our concerns. In his usual eloquent style, Mr. Hevener helped us all to see what we can do in simple, consistent fashion that gave us all hope and the belief that we already ARE winning. He also stripped away the deceptive exterior of these anti-animal laws disguised as “public safety” ordinances to expose the real agenda behind this anti-pet, anti-owner, anti-American, cruel, heartless movement. We invite you all to listen in as we are left with a renewed hope and vigor to rise above the fear and negativity these ordinances are bringing, to bravely turn the tides in a spirit of love, truth and hope as a united American team of animal ambassadors.

AFGHAN HOUND CLUB pictures of Executive Inn parking lot during Kentuckiana

Just a note about Louisville shows & attendance & the boycott.

Entries were down about 1,000 dogs, which is about 25%, so there were a lot of folks who boycotted the shows (and the dog clubs who give the shows). But it was still a very big dog show (maybe Sat & Sun will turn out to be the largest in USA this year – about 3,500). As for the folks who came, most decided not to spend ANY money in Louisville Metro (Jefferson County). The dog law info booth had a survey for folks to show if they stayed in Louisville or not, how much the spent in Louisville ), and how much they spent elsewhere.

My total expenditure was 50 cents – for parking at mayor’s office & Metro Hall Thursday and Friday afternoon with the Liberty Van, with it’s new signs on both sides, “Louisville Mayor disrespects all types private property rights – BOOT the MAYOR
and “FIRE Gilles Meloche-Louisville Metro Animal Services DICTATOR Worth every penny : )

The news media may try to ignore or minimize the economic impact of this, but pictures are worth 1,000 words. You all are welcome to share this one if you like. Here are a few pics I took of the Executive Inn parking lot. It is situated right across the street from the main gate of the Expo center, and it is ALWAYS CRAMMED during this dog show. I took the pics on Friday evening (2nd day of show), and Saturday evening (biggest entry day of show, with Sunday being almost as big)
