Hi Gail,

I suppose it's because this was a free country for people to make choices: good or bad. I want it to remain that way. Whenever we have a free society people, animals and the environment suffer. However, we feel that continual education is the answer not legislating away our rights.

I'm so sorry for your two sweet dogs, mine too was very abused. The good news is, they are with us now and living the lives they deserve. So we keep hope alive! Thank you for sharing.

Our two dogs are Siberian huskies we found on Petfinder through a co-worker who introduced us to Petfinder. I will never understand humans who seem to enjoy, even go out of their way, to abuse animals. Both of our huskies were rescued by a rescue agency, and had been abused. Rosie had sores all over her body, her hair was like straw and she was malnourished. She also had rope burns on her neck and mud all over her hair. She was very depressed, not even picking up her head or tail. It's taken an entire year to turn her around. Why are people like this allowed to have animals?
