National Board of Certification for Animal Acupressure & Massage is moving forward as quickly as possible…
The Website is getting up and running by the beginning of June so that people can access lots of information: mission statement, who can sit for the examination, the areas the Equine Massage and the Equine Acupressure examinations cover, applications, proctoring requirements, listing of committees, and more.
The core committee continues to work to revise the examinations with the help of the staff at Hocking College’s computer center. The expanded review committee is in the process of submitting their final commments. The larger committee, including other massage and acupressure schools, veterinarians, and professional practitioners, has done an excellent, detailed job of review and we are thankful that they have made the exams even better.
We sincerely appreciate all the support we have received from so many people. We all understand what is at stake and it is so important to take this step in creating our own organization that will ultimately benefit all of us.
If we support NBCAAM and make it the industry standard, then the impact and meaning will even be greater. A lot of good people are putting a lot of good work into this effort and we definitely need to monitor our own professionalism. Taking the examination is entirely voluntary and we are excited to be able to offer this option to people who are serious about enhancing the professional standing of animal massage and acupressure.
Promotion is the next big step — we wanted to have the website and examinations within weeks of launching before jumping into a major communications campaign. If you can help with PR, please contact us. We need your help, please contact us.
Pathology Courses! In July 2009, Bill Harnetty, DVM will be offering a Hands-on Pathology course especially for participants in the hands-on therapies. The Online Pathology course will be available as of this summer – watch for the announcement.
