Newfie Palooza 2008

We’re excited to share with you the show we did today on The Dog View with the North Central Newfoundland Breed Club, Newfie Palooza 2008. This breed club goes above and beyond the call of duty to raise funds that go to help the Newfoundland Breed Rescue across the USA. In fact, it is breeders who are the ones who help out their breeds and work in conjunction with the shelters to foster a dog if it has ended up (for some reason) in a rescue situation, rehab it if needs doing, and then place the dog in a forever home. VERY contrary to what you’ll hear in the media and from certain factions these days.

Please listen below as we talk with Cissy Sullivan, the President of the North Central Newfoundland Breed Club:

As many of you already know, Ron is a published author of several books and numerous articles, not to mention an accomplished artist and sculptor of animal figures. To top that all off he is also a singer. And let’s not forget a breeder of champion dogs and horses. He now brings all his talents together in a new documentary film about his book, Fate of the Stallion featuring his beautiful horse, Selket Louchiano! Here is Mr. Hevener to tell you all about it. Look for him on a Special Edition presentation of Animal Talk Naturally in May to share his journey to film and as always with the animals….

Horse Breeder Ron Hevener Makes Documentary ….

Like many horse lovers, I grew up fascinated by movies and television. To me, a kid from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, whose family roots were in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia, television was something many people didn’t have and movies were a special treat. I guess that sounds like a long time ago, and almost as if I came from another land to some of my readers. Maybe so. But, it was a good land. [Read more →]
